Welcome to Eastern Shore Agriculture's Home Page

AGRICULTURE is still the largest commercial industry on the Mid-Shore.

FARMING is crucial to the economy and to the way of life of its residents. From the
food we eat, to the flowers and plants in our homes, the landscaping of our yards,
our valuable real estate, beautiful coastal waters and fine recreational hunting all
relate to our county's agricultural land use.

FARMERS are proud of their heritage and contributions to the Eastern Shore's
beauty and economy. They believe a clean, safe, productive environment equals a
bountiful and safe food and water supply. Most farmers employ Best Management
Practices (BMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and land nutrient management
programs, as well as being licensed to spray farm chemicals.

Farmers are good stewards of the land, savvy businessmen and excellent
conservationists.
